Copyright & takedown requests

Last updated November 1, 2026. Plain-language draft: to be reviewed by a lawyer.

We respect copyright and remove infringing videos quickly. The fastest way is the Report button on the video ("It's my video / copyright").

Formal notice (DMCA)

Send a written notice to our designated agent with:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The work you say is infringed (for example, your video or song).
  3. The link to the Scroll California page with the material.
  4. Your name, address, phone and email.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by you, your agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Counter-notice

If your video was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice with your signature, the removed link, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district. We may restore the video after 10 to 14 business days unless the claimant tells us they've filed a lawsuit.

Repeat infringers

We block accounts that repeatedly upload infringing videos.
